THE CHALLENGE
At Mobile World Congress 2019, HTC arrived in Barcelona with a clear mission: to demonstrate that virtual reality had matured. The Taiwanese brand needed to show the world, and especially the professional market, that VR could move beyond home entertainment and become a real work tool.
The launch of the Vive Focus Plus, a standalone headset with six degrees of freedom controllers, marked a turning point: eliminating cables, computers and barriers to make immersion more accessible to businesses, training centers and collaborative environments.
In addition, the company sought to link its ecosystem with the immediate future of 5G, the cloud, and artificial intelligence, showing how these advances would pave the way for a new stage of immersive connectivity: the so-called Vive Reality.
OUR PROPOSAL
HTC’s booth at MWC 2019 was conceived as a window into this new reality.
A space where visitors could experience the fluidity of a 6DoF experience, try 5G cloud game streaming, and explore the possibilities of the Vive Pro Eye’s eye tracking. Each area was designed to connect innovation with practical application:
Immersive demonstration areas, where medical simulators and industrial training environments developed by partners such as SimforHealth and Immersive Factory were presented.
Networking and press areas, to explain how the VIVE Wave platform and the new VIVEPORT Infinity service made it possible to unify content in the same VR ecosystem.
5G demonstration points showcased the real-time transmission of VR experiences from the cloud via the HTC 5G Hub.
The visual narrative revolved around the idea of blurred boundaries: erasing the lines between the physical and digital worlds. With minimalist presentation and readily accessible technology, the space invited visitors to explore the future of virtual collaboration.
“We transformed the booth into a bridge between the present and the next generation of connectivity. There, 5G, VR, and the cloud ceased to be concepts and became an experience.”

THE RESULTS
The launch of the Vive Focus Plus solidified HTC’s position as a leader in enterprise VR, expanding its presence to 25 markets and 19 languages with an included enterprise license.
The media coverage of the stand at MWC 2019 was remarkable, highlighting both the corporate focus and the coherence between hardware, content and cloud services.
The professional audience, from developers to training and simulation managers, was able to see firsthand the robustness of the Vive ecosystem, while Cher Wang’s keynote on “Realizing Vive Reality” reinforced HTC’s vision as a pioneer in the convergence of VR, AR, AI and 5G.
The result: an immersive experience that not only presented a product, but a new paradigm of sensory connectivity.
