Interactive kinect.

An immersive interactive installation for the company Aciturri, presented at the London 2023 aerospace show, with the aim of innovatively communicating its participation in the construction of components for a supersonic aircraft capable of flying at stratospheric altitudes, where even the curvature of the Earth can be perceived.

The experience began with a video screensaver projected onto a large front screen. When a visitor stood in front of it, a body recognition system using Kinect technology detected their presence and activated the interactive mode.

By opening their arms and simulating a gliding motion, the user took control of a 3D airplane that soared through a digital landscape from a stratospheric perspective. Body movements were translated in real time into the airplane’s flight, allowing the visitor to steer its trajectory with natural and intuitive gestures.

The interactive experience was developed entirely in TouchDesigner, combining the visual power of the generative environment with a fluid and responsive interface. The experience blended digital art, engineering, and technological communication, poetically and immersively conveying Aciturri’s vision: to fly higher, faster, and farther.

The result was an installation that transformed aeronautical innovation into a sensory and participatory experience, making each visitor literally feel the excitement of piloting the future.
